Planning the Perfect Picnic in Baltimore for National Picnic Day

April 20, 2021

Friday, April 23 is National Picnic Day! National Picnic Day is a celebration held every year on April 23 to honor the wonderful picnic and everything picnics have to offer. Picnics began in France when royal parks opened to the public for the first time in 1789 after the French Revolution. The idea of the picnic eventually spread and became a popular activity in the United States and other countries around the world!

Packing for the perfect picnic is easy—all you really need is a blanket, food, and drinks, but you can also bring games and other fun activities to keep you and your friends or family entertained.

Make sure to bring easy to pack food, garbage bags, napkins, wipes, and a cooler for drinks.

Travel as light as possible to make setting and cleaning up easier as well. Since you will be outside, it’s also important to prepare for bugs, which you can do by bringing bug spray and containers with lids.

There are plenty of beautiful nearby parks and delicious restaurants with to-go options to help make planning your picnic a bit easier!
